Genius: Bren Bataclan

I heard Mr. Bataclan casually mentioned  in a web interview I was listening to on Monday. And after two seconds checking out his website I am bursting with enough hopefulness and inspiration to carry me far beyond this blazing Arizona summer.

In 2003, Bren Bataclan started leaving his art, happy little monster paintings, all around Boston with the note, "This painting is yours to keep if you promise to smile at random people more often." The bliss spread quickly and the feedback and appreciation from the 'finders' came rolling in. A woman from Greece found one of his paintings on her first day of chemotherapy in Boston. Total game changer.

He hasn't stopped. It's 2013 and he has planted paintings all over the world. Changing the world. During the recession he did messages of "Everything will be alright" and more recently, he left paintings at the significant locations in the Boston Marathon tragedy.

Smiling monsters spreading love in Watertown, MA, leaning on a mailbox at the first explosion sight, and a colorful glimpse of hope shining through the cloud of death on the M.I.T. campus.

Read the feedback, watch the news clip and check out his art for sale HERE.
